As an Executive Coach and Management Consultant, Stans successfully coaches senior executives in the areas of career transitions and leadership skills. She focuses on helping organizations and executives to be more successful by managing and embracing change and by evaluating and developing their own abilities while assessing strengths and gaps in the organization. As a former Vice President at Sun Microsystems, Stans’ created an integrated development organization after two acquisitions, lead worldwide organizations in multiple time zones and was consistently ranked as one of the top managers amongst her peer group.

    Professional Profile

    Stans brings to her current practice more than 25 years of experience in software development, people management and extensive business expertise. She is a certified coach through New Ventures West in San Francisco and is qualified as a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) instructor.

    Stans worked at Sun Microsystems for over 13 years. Most recently she was the Vice-President of Market Development Engineering working closely with Sun’s software partners worldwide. Previously she headed up the Developer Tools organization and she played a critical leadership role on the team that developed the Java platform.

    Earlier in her career, Stans worked in the Netherlands and in Italy. She speaks multiple languages (Dutch, Italian, German and French). She earned an MSCS from Computer Science College (HIO) in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

     

    Awards and Recognition

    Board Member, Global Fund for Women, a grant-making organization based in San Francisco which provides grants to women's groups around the world striving to improve women's human rights. Since its inception in 1987, the Global Fund for Women has granted over $30 million to over 2,500 grassroots women’s groups in over 175 countries, 2002-present.

    Board Member, SDForum (Software Development Forum). SDForum is a non-profit Silicon Valley organization connecting software professionals, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, industry experts and major technology companies, 2002-2004.
